#2 How to choose a location?

Although the number of car washes keeps growing (in Poland there are already more than 8,000), there are still areas where you can confidently open a touchless car wash.

The location of a touchless car wash is very important – some say it is the most important factor.

Although the number of car washes keeps growing (in Poland, estimates put it at more than 8,000), there are still areas where you can confidently open a touchless car wash. Most often they are found in less urbanised areas, in smaller towns or along busy roads.

On the other hand, there is no shortage of investors who successfully open car washes in large cities. Competing sites were often built years ago and do not offer the latest technology, such as card payments or a choice of washing programmes. And people like new things. When analysing a location, you need to consider the immediate surroundings and the existing competition. It is a good idea to visit other owners' car washes on different days of the week (working days and days off) and at different times of day. This is also an opportunity to learn exactly what your competitors offer.

When looking for a good location, also consider the presence of businesses that can help you run yours. We mean companies offering services to motorists, such as vehicle inspection stations, independent petrol stations, car repair shops, car rental companies and used car dealers. A win-win partnership is possible here, in which both businesses gain new (and returning) customers. It is well worth it, and such partnerships are common in many industries.

Also check for busy roads and the local development plans (which buildings and infrastructure will be built in the area in the future). This knowledge will certainly help in your talks with the landowner and with the sales representative of the car wash supplier. You will be able to check their knowledge, competence and, of course, honesty.
