A self-service car wash is not only about washing the bodywork. See how to clean your car interior step by step with a vacuum cleaner and basic cleaning products.
Many people use car washes because they make it possible to wash a car quickly. Self-service car washes also offer additional services. On site you can use a professional vacuum cleaner to clean the interior of your car, or a dispenser to fill up with washer fluid.
Cleaning the car interior – step by step
Step 1: Removing rubbish
Before you start cleaning, it is a good idea to remove all rubbish from the car, such as empty bottles, papers and so on. Then take out the floor mats and remove any dirt from them. We start by cleaning the interior, and an empty space will certainly make the job easier.
Step 2: Vacuuming the car interior
Once the rubbish and mats are out, vacuum the interior of the car thoroughly. A car wash vacuum cleaner, which you will find at a separate station, is perfect for this. Vacuum cleaners of this kind are very simple and intuitive to use, and their big advantage is that they are relatively cheap to use.
Step 3: Cleaning the upholstery and mats
Next, vacuum the upholstery and mats. Start by cleaning the seats. Once the seats are clean, you can move on to the mats, which are easy to wash with a high-pressure lance if they are rubber, or with the vacuum cleaner mentioned above if they are made of fabric.
Step 4: Cleaning plastic and wooden parts
After cleaning the upholstery and carpets, move on to the plastic and wooden parts such as the dashboard, doors and centre console. For this you can use special cleaning products for plastic parts or a water solution of a neutral detergent. Remember not to use overly aggressive chemicals, which can damage the surface.
Step 5: Cleaning the windows
The final stage of cleaning the car interior is cleaning the windows. Use special glass cleaners to avoid streaks.
Regular washing and cleaning of your car
Regularly removing dirt, dust, stains and other grime will help you keep the inside of your car clean and make driving more comfortable. Cleaning a car is not complicated, as long as you know how to go about it and what to look out for. A well-planned process will let you get the job done quickly.
