Why does the chemical dosing system in a touchless car wash matter?

The choice of chemical dosing system in a touchless car wash plays a significant role, as it affects many important aspects of running the car wash. But let us start at the beginning. Anyone deciding to buy a touchless car wash should know that it can run on either liquid or powder chemicals. The two systems differ, which affects both the purchase price of the car wash and its subsequent operating costs.

What makes the difference? First, the liquid chemical dosing installation in a touchless car wash is very simple and does not require a mechanically complex dispenser. This makes a liquid chemistry car wash cheaper to buy. Since the whole dosing system is much simpler than in a powder car wash, fewer things can break down. So it is absolutely true that a liquid chemistry car wash is easier to service.

It is also important that, unlike powder, liquid chemicals can work with water at a lower temperature than the standard 40 °C. With liquid chemicals we can lower it to, for example, 35 or 30 °C, or in extreme cases not heat the water at all.

At a time of unpredictable energy prices, running a powder car wash is simply more expensive than running a liquid chemistry car wash. That is why liquid chemistry is said to be a perfect solution for hard times.

As far as maintaining a car wash with a liquid dosing system is concerned, it is worth mentioning that liquid chemicals cause slightly less wear on high-pressure pumps, which means the pumps need replacing less often over the life of the car wash.

Just as importantly, liquid chemicals contain no phosphates. This is particularly important in regions with strict environmental restrictions. Liquid chemicals can therefore be used anywhere, regardless of local environmental requirements. They are readily biodegradable and more environmentally friendly.

Of course, the arguments above do not mean we encourage you to give up powder chemicals for good. However, it is worth giving yourself the flexibility to switch easily between the two types of product.
