#5 How to check a touchless car wash manufacturer

For investors#buyer's guide

The number of car wash manufacturers and distributors keeps growing. Choosing a specific company should be a well-considered decision, so it is worth checking many factors before you make up your mind.

There are more and more places to wash a car. In the last ten years more than 2,000 new touchless car washes have opened in Poland alone – a considerable number. Even so, investing in car washes still pays off, and new sites keep appearing. The number of car wash manufacturers and distributors is growing too. Choosing a specific company should be a well-considered decision, so it is worth checking many factors before making your final choice.

Price

A low price may be tempting, but before you get carried away, make sure the components used are of high quality. Cheaper solutions often mean lower durability, lower performance and more frequent failures – and therefore higher costs in the long run.

Project support

Check what project support you can count on. Does the company provide a complete set of documents? Will a dedicated account manager with experience in similar projects support you at every stage?

EU funding

If you intend to apply for funding, make sure the company has experience in EU-funded projects and can document the innovativeness of its equipment.

Price, once again

The standard equipment of a car wash from company X and from company Y does not have to be the same. Companies use different definitions of "standard", so offers can differ significantly in scope and price.

Car wash personalisation

If you want your site to stand out from the competition, check the personalisation options: your own logo, colours, banners, stickers and unconventional marketing.

Add-ons

Find out which add-ons are available beyond the standard option and whether the car wash can be expanded later at all.

Experience

Check how many car washes the company installs each year and how fast it is growing. This is a good indicator of business stability.

Location

See where the company is based and what its facilities look like. It is worth verifying that it really is an organised business and not an operation without real facilities behind it.

Changes to the offer

Make sure the company is developing, updating its software and introducing new solutions.

Reliability

Ask how often the car washes it sells break down and what their real uptime is over a year.

Optimisation

Check whether the company can help you optimise the operation of the car wash and increase its profitability.

Knowledge

It is worth checking whether the manufacturer offers training, workshops, instructions, webinars or guides for car wash owners.

Warranty

The length of the warranty alone is not enough. You need to know what happens after it expires, what service cooperation looks like and how quickly failures will be fixed.

Customer reviews

Check customer reviews and ask whether the sales representative can put you in touch with a current car wash owner who will tell you what the cooperation looks like in practice.
